Lillie (1887 – 1910) was the oldest of four children born to William H. and Minna (Goldmeier) Falkenstein. William was a butcher, and Lillie worked as a hairdresser, which likely explains her very elaborate coiffure in her cameo portrait. She was predeceased by her little sister, Ruth, who was only seven when she died.
William died just six years after Lillie, but her brother Milton continued his work as a butcher and supported his mother and sister Bertha.
Milton married in the 1920s and had one daughter, but he sadly died in 1929. He is buried elsewhere in the cemetery.
Bertha continued to live with her mother until Minna’s death in 1931. Bertha married at 42 just a month before her mother’s death.
Bertha lived to be 80, dying in 1969. Her niece and her niece’s children are mentioned in her obituary, so it appears that they stayed close. She is also buried somewhere in this cemetery, though there was no marker on the family lot and no photo on @findagrave.
